WE THE KINGS – Smile Kid

‘Smile Kid’ is the brilliant new album from boy band, We The Kings. Having just finished touring with our beloved ‘You Me At Six’, there is no doubt that people will be revelling in the new album by these boys – and so they should!
I for one cannot praise them enough for their masterpiece that they have put together. It is a common problem for bands of the pop-rock genre to bring out a few fabulous songs but when you buy their album it is a huge let down – well not with this CD.
Their songs fill you up with rhythm and perfect melodies that you’ll be humming for the rest of the day. We’ll Be A Dream featuring the one and only Demi Lovato is only one of the tantalising tracks that I thoroughly enjoyed. Others include Promise The Stars, She Takes Me High, Spin, and The Story Of Your Life.
Each track has its down identity and its own meaning. For me the first few tracks on the CD were mostly based on love and girls in specific. I’m sure the guys have been through their own heartbreak whilst portraying the good and bad times in their songs.
The album as a whole is infectious and high spirited. If you like ‘Boys like Girls’ and ‘All time low’, then this might just be the band you have been looking for. Already they have headlined at 2009 Vans Warped Tour and no doubt we will be seeing more fantastic things from them in the future. Good job Boys!
