LIARS – Sisterworld

May 25th, 2010  |  Published in Reviews

Sisterworld is an experimental rock album by Liars, a band often interested in the texture of their songs, and I’ve seen other reviews of this album all over, but to be honest, I really don’t see it. There are parts on the album which are absolutely perfect, and I mean the bit where it’s not just the singer whining, but full on heavy riffs, drums n all. But there are at most two bits of that on Sisterworld, the rest is just whining, boring, even parts where nothings actually happening, just a weird tone. Its, just really, really awful, and it’s a crying shame because there are bits on this album that are genius, but Liars will need to try harder to impress me, not just noises. This album is like drinking more than 2 cups of water in quick succession, you get bored and throw the rest away, and that’s what you’ll find yourself doing, turning this album off half-way through. If you’re a fan of boring, weird noise then this is the album you’re looking for, if you want something that will actually blow your ears off, buy their last self-titled album. It’s like the good bits on Sisterworld, but a lot longer and not just a lot of nothing.
