K-OS – Yes

The short snippet of argument at the beginning of the album is confusing at first, but draws in listeners, so it does the job it is there for. It goes on to be a generally enjoyable album. ‘Zambony’ is a strong opening track, and gives a good idea of what is to be expected in the remaining 11 tracks. While the first two songs seem to be very similar, the third track ‘Burning Bridges’ is very individual, which is a refreshing change and is the start of a variety of tracks, very different to each other. This is surprising, as I had expected the album to drag on and merge into one long track. A particularly enjoyable song is ‘I Wish I Knew Natalie Portman’, which was VERY different to what I was expecting after reading the track name. It was catchy and fun. This, K-OS’s fourth album, went on to be a very pleasant surprise, there were no tracks which I had to skip and it didn’t get old or boring. The closing track, ‘The Avenue’, provides a strong ending to a generally powerful album.
