PENDULUM – Immersion

I’m sure everyone is very much aware of Pendulum’s debut album – Hold Your Colour – including the famous tracks ‘Tarantula’ and ‘Hold Your Colour’. I’m also sure that many thought they would not be able to top that, but with their next album – In Silico – going platinum just like their first, they did. Now they are back to blast our eardrums once more with their new album – Immersion.
After excitement escalated following Pendulum’s exclusive album preview DJ set, at their Ear Storm night at London’s Matter in January, everyone has been deeply anticipating what else there is to come.
Immersion is full of tantalising new combinations including mixes with Liam Howlett of The Prodigy, and the band In Flames – a groundbreaking fusion between drum, bass and metal is produced.
The albums first single, Watercolour, was released on May 3rd and the more it was played on the radio, the more I started to love it. The variation in tempo reminds me of another song that I can’t quite put my finger on, but it bursts into its own catchy and exciting rhythm.
Track 1 from the album – Genesis – puts me back on track with the likes of “Tarantula” and reminds me of their old album, but combined with the progression of their new one.
Trouncing festivals such as Reading, Leeds, Sonisphere and Radio 1’s Big Weekend this summer, Pendulum are bursting with new material and new energy to give the crowd an experience like never before.
I definitely would like a ticket because this is going to be like a sonic recreation of the end of the world!
Oh wait, I lied. It’s drum and bass, what you gonna do?
