I have enjoyed listening to The Little Million‘s debut release since I received it and it has even earned its place onto my iPod. A Pop/Rock band with Hard Rock elements, it’s a breath of fresh air in a genre that has become full of bands doing exactly the same thing. Satellite is infectious, sing-along feel good rock which I fell in love with in the same sort of way I did Foo Fighters.
There are tracks on Satellite which feel very Britpop, a bit like they’re trying to fuse their sound with a Blur-esque sound, and weirdly it’s a great combination. While Bring Out The Blues is a classic example of how Pop/Rock SHOULD be done, later tracks such as The Best You’ve Got are big chunks of Hard Rock pleasure, as I said very much like the Foo Fighters and it’s these bits of the album really show what this band can do.
As much as I love this album I would love to see them experiment more with their harder rock side as I think this could do the band a great deal while keeping their already rapidly growing fan base happy. The Little Million’s ‘Satellite’ is a strong effort from a band who can write good tunes, if they experiment with their sound I think they could break and win over a whole new crowd.
