VIDEODROME – 08/10/2009

So many great videos in this edition, where do we begin? How about with Kill It Kid and the promo for ‘Heaven Never Seemed So Close’?, well it works for us, and if you have a look I think you’ll like it too. We’ve got the rather lovely Sound Of Guns’ new single too, ‘Elementary Of Youth’ is an indie rock classic in the making, if we’re not mistaken! Ghost of A Thousand are our favourite shouty punks of the moment (and, in our opinion far better than Gallows, with whom they are so often compared), big and boisturous, ‘Knees, Toes, Teeth’ is a superb few minutes of blistering primal rock. Sharing a niche with Broadway Calls for some 90s style punk rock, Orange may have inadvertantly found Dookie’s missing tracks. Although, if ‘Standing Still’ is anything to go by, they may just be as good at writing snappy little numbers as Billie Jo and co. Last, but by no means least, are The Chemists. ‘Milk and Honey’ is a classic little rock track with a funny video featuring Howard Marks himself!
