With the recent special edition release of Cast’s seminal All Change album and the band about to head back into the studio, we thought it was time to catch up so our own Jules Aplin gave him a call…

‘How The Caged Bird Sings’ is the follow up to The Brute Chorus’ live debut and comes a mere 11 months after its release, pretty prolific by today’s standards.

Performance seem to have done the whole rock ‘n’ roll thing, perhaps just the wrong way round, major label deal, chemical implosion and romantic rifts, just not necessarily in that order

A side project from a drummer? Not necessarily the most exciting prospect to cross my path, however when that drummer is Gary Powell (The Libertines/Dirty Pretty Things) I feel a little more encouraged that this may be something worth listening to.

It is sad when you reach a certain age and the albums you grew up with are all suddenly being repackaged and reissued; celebrating birthdays I have long forgotten.
